Tulsi Gabbard of Hawaii would hold a post whose extensive powers include briefing the president on the most sensitive U.S. secrets, exercising authority over the $100 billion annual U.S. spy budget, and holding sway over which secrets to declassify.

Gabbard and her husband are connected to the Science of Identity Foundation, whose former members described worshipping its leader as “God’s voice on Earth.”

For most of her career, Tulsi was outspoken about progressive issues like protecting abortion rights and banning assault weapons. Now, she's a Trump supporter.
