Catholic authorities collaborated with Microsoft to develop a digital twin of St. Peter's Basilica, one of the most important Christian churches and a globally renowned tourist

St Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican City has been recreated in digital form using the latest developments in artificial intelligence. “Through the digital twin, people worldwide can explore and engage with the Basilica’s rich history and architecture, regardless of their physical location,” says a Vatican statement.

The Vatican launched on Monday new Artificial Intelligence-enabled services for St Peter's Basilica, allowing virtual access to its Renaissance-era architectural treasures for all and enhanced tours for visitors.
