Kamal Haasan has officially decided to drop the title "Ulaga Nayagan" (Universal Hero) and other honorary prefixes associated with his name. On Monday, the veteran actor announced that he prefers to be addressed simply as "Kamal Haasan," "Kamal," or "KH.

Kamal Haasan on November 11 issued a statement urging fans, audience, media, and members of the film industry to refrain from using tags like ‘Ulaganayagan’ (hero of the universe) while mentioning his name.

Veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan requested his fans to avoid addressing him as Ulaganayagan (universal hero) or with other titles. He shared an official statement on social media on Monday (November 11) to announce his decision, which he said comes from a place of humility. He also stated that he wishes to remain true to his roots.

The veteran actor, set to star in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life in 2025, added that he prefers to be addressed by his name of KH

The statement read, "I have always felt a deep sense of gratitude over being bestowed with endearing titles such as Ulaganayagan, among others. Such accolades, given by the people and recognised by esteemed colleagues and admirers, have always been humbling, and I've been genuinely moved by your love in conferring it upon me."

On November 11, Monday, legendary actor Kamal Haasan took to his official X (formerly Twitter handle) to issue a statement where he requested his fans to dop all honorary titles and accolades that have been bestowed upon him by them including the popular 'Ulaganayagan' and 'Aandavar'.
