In a second trailer for Ridley Scott's much-anticipated follow-up, Gladiator II, Paul Mescal's Lucius forms an uneasy alliance with Denzel Washington.

The new trailer showcases Lucius as he meets Washington's Macrinus, who proposes to use Lucius' skills in the gladiator arena to hedge his own power in the ancient empire and overthrow emperors portrayed by Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger.
