Florida sued the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) director and an employee who was fired for telling a survivor assistance team after Hurricane Milton not to visit homes displaying signs supporting President-elect Trump’s candidacy.

Fla. Attorney General Ashley Moody is suing Federal Emergency Management Agency Administrator Deanne Criswell, and a former FEMA supervisor for violating Floridians' civil rights after hurricanes.

She said her directive was as a result of what she calls political hostilities her team experienced in Florida when they were surveying.

In a worst-case scenario for the U.S., a major hurricane could hit Florida's Gulf coast, but forecasters say it would have to clear several hurdles.

The NHC said Wednesday it is tracking a tropical wave in the Caribbean Sea that could become a tropical depression by the end of the week.

Tropical Depression Nineteen formed Thursday morning and is expected to become tropical Storm Sara later today, the NHC said.
