There are lots of pretty areas to ride on the Centennial trail. One would be to start at Fort Wright Drive (T.J. Meenach Bridge) and head out West where you will travel towards Riverside State Park which is a feel of being out of the city. Another pretty area is starting at Farr Road and head east where you will follow along the Spokane River where if you get hungry you can stop off at a variety of eateries in the Valley Mall area on Sullivan. Nice way to get a ride and a bite to eat too. Enjoy the ride.

In WA, miles 1 to 2 of the C.T. are close to the interstate, but as others have stated there is a fence and barrier. If you are in that part of town (close to Liberty lake), I suggest using the Harvard Rd. trailhead (take Exit 296 off I-90, and go north) and biking West from there. The most scenic route is in Riverside State Park, miles 27 to 37; especially Morin Trailhead - (off of Trails rd, on Equestrian Lane) to Nine Mile Falls.

There are several good places to rent close to the Centennial Trail. They should all include helmets with the rental, as they are legally required in the City of Spokane. On the north side of the Spokane River in Kendall Yards (where there's free parking): MonkeyBoy Bicycles rents by the day or hour: 509-863-9272 In downtown: Spoke n Sport rents by the day or hour: 509-838-8842 The only one I know of in the Spokane Valley is The Bike Hub. They only rent by the day and are a bit more expensive than those downtown. Have to arrange ahead for children's bikes to be brought from another location. 509-443-4005.
