The grounds of the Imperial Palace were beautifully maintained. One cannot go into the palace but it's a great place to wander around. There were a couple places for refreshments. Full review by Ka H

You are required to reserve admission ticket online or line up queue on site. Then you are strictly instructed to follow a guided tour without freely visit. The guided tour is outdoor, only …

You are required to reserve admission ticket online or line up queue on site. Then you are strictly instructed to follow a guided tour without freely visit. The guided tour is outdoor, only walking around the open area of the imperial palace. If you don’t like to follow the guided tour, you can choose the East Garden where is open to public but close every Friday.

It’s better to reserve the seats online, otherwise, you need to line up the queue in early morning for at least an hour.

You cannot enter the imperial palace. Only one of the gardens.
